Tod Heisler Joins LandWatch to Restore the Deschutes River
Over the next several years, many important regulatory and policy decisions regarding the management of the Deschutes River are likely to be made. Since these decisions will set the course of conservation for the river for the foreseeable future, now is the time to take meaningful action.
Tod Heisler will join LandWatch’s staff to assure that the Deschutes River is well-represented in future policy deliberations and decision-making. Heisler brings twenty-five years of conservation experience– ten years at Conservation International and the past fifteen years leading the Deschutes River Conservancy (DRC), where he acquired an unparalleled understanding of the challenges facing the Deschutes River, its stakeholders, and potential solutions.
“I am excited to join such a passionate and dedicated group of conservationists and look forward to working with this team, former colleagues and partners to restore streamflows throughout our region,” Heisler says. He believes that the threats of climate change and endangered species create new urgency for this critical work.
