Tools and Tips for the Citizen Lobbyist

While it can be easy to forget about the lawmaking going on at our state's capitol, the decisions that get made in Salem have statewide impact and affect our quality of life in Central Oregon.

Last week, we hosted Oregon Legislature Policy 101 with Friends of Family Farmers and High Desert Food & Farm Alliance. Our speakers Ivan Maluski, FOFF Policy Director, Judy Stiegler, former State Representative, and Kim Elton, former Alaska State Senator and Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Interior told us that our state representatives want to hear from us.

State legislators are not distant politicians. Instead, they are regular people who are often very approachable and eager to hear our views. Please see below for some tips and tools for the citizen lobbyist.
