Action Alert: Speak Out in Support of Wildlife
We need you to stand up for wildlife and rural quality of life in Central Oregon!
Last month, a Deschutes County hearings officer found that two reservoirs, one of them specifically designed for water skiing, were created without the requisite land use permits.
The decision was appealed and will be heard by the Board of County Commissioners on:
Thursday, January 29th, 2015 at 5:30pm
County Building at 1300 NW Wall St.
Please attend this hearing and let County Commissioners know:
- A rural area should be kept rural. Introducing a water ski lake into a forest setting is inconsistent with rural life.
- This project is a waste of precious, cold Tumalo Creek water, which is essential to the quality of the Middle Deschutes River.
- These lakes are in the heart of the deer winter range and will impact deer populations, which are already declining.
If you can't attend, please email the County Commissioners and include Anthony Raguine in your cc line.
