Engaging Our Legislators
ADVOCACY IN SALEM
Since 1986, Central Oregon LandWatch has been working to create well-planned cities and protect wild, open spaces across the region.
Leveraging our legal expertise, policy analysis, and experience with Oregon’s land-use planning system, we guide development in cities and towns and protect the land and water that sustains our communities and ecosystems.
During legislative sessions, LandWatch reviews bills, presents policy recommendations, and advocates for issues that affect us all across Central Oregon.
GET INVOLVED
Interested in legislative advocacy for conservation, climate, and sustainable growth here in Central Oregon?
There are many ways to join with us during the legislative sessions through attending committee hearings, offering testimony, and otherwise engaging in proceedings on issues and bills of interest to you. As we see bills come to the floor, we are constantly reviewing legislation to find and support the best policies for our community.
Subscribe to our Action Alerts
We go behind-the-scenes to track bills. When a bill gets sent to a committee, there is a quick turnaround time on the need for public input. We'll send out an action alert email with information – the name and summary of the bill, the time of a committee meeting if you want to provide spoken testimony, and contact information for submitting written testimony.
Support LandWatch in Salem
Our legislative advocacy work is made possible by our generous financial supporters. From working with our lobbyist who is talking to our representatives every day, to supporting the behind-the-scenes research and outreach we do at LandWatch, your gifts to this organization keep us working for the future of Central Oregon.
